The first film in the new trilogy of Strangers movies, The Strangers: Chapter 1, was released in United States theaters last month.
Despite receiving mostly negative reviews from critics and fans, it still made approximately $35.4 million at the global box office off an estimated $8.5 million budget.

Directed by Harlin, the script for The Strangers: Chapter 1 was written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. Along with Petsch, it stars Froy Gutierrez as Ryan, Rachel Shenton as Debbie, Gabriel Basso as Gregory, Ema Horvath as Shelly, Richard Brake as Sheriff Rotter, Ella Bruccoleri as Jasmine, MatΓΊΕ‘ LajΔΓ‘k as Scarecrow, Olivia Kreutzova as Dollface, and Letizia Fabbri as Pin-Up Girl.
